| Here is a copy of my 2006 MiamiMan half-ironman training diary, which is more in the format of a blog. Any opinions I express here are mine alone, and as such should not be taken as gospel. However, I am a certified personal trainer, and have many years of experience of training and racing in endurance events. Even so, my schedule is certainly not perfect, and should never be followed by anybody else. I know my body extremely well, and know what training regimes have worked the best for me in the past. Unfortunately, I am a notorious over trainer, and have difficulty restraining my desire to see improvements too quickly. Hopefully during this twelve week program I will remain injury free, and avoid some of the issues which have plagued me in the past. Also remember that before taking up an exercise program, if you have been sedentary or have health concerns , then it is important to consult your doctor to ensure that it is safe to begin. If you join a local gym, then they should take you through a basic health screening to check on your BMI (body mass index), blood pressure and medical history before allowing you to begin.
